Today's challenge for the fifth day of March asks me to tell you about my favorite movies that I never get sick of watching.
I used to love watching movies. However, since I've had children, I struggle to stay awake through movies that I have seen before, and even a few that I've never seen before. I've even slept through a few movies at the theater that I paid good money to see. This really puts a damper on the whole movie-watching experience, let me tell you.
My all-time favorite movies will always be musicals, where ordinary people on an ordinary street in an ordinary place turn into a freakishly talented, mind-reading, dancing mob at a moments notice and then return to their ordinary business when the song is over as if nothing unusual has happened.
Movies like The Newsies
I always get shivers when Andrew Denton walks onto the scene for the very first time. I crushed hard on him when I saw this movie back in 1992. I was in seventh or eighth grade at the time, and all my friends were swooning over David or Jack or Spot or Racetrack, but "our man Denton" was the only man for me.
There are a few non-musicals that I love. One is While You Were Sleeping.
Maybe it's just because "our man Denton" co-stars? No, it's really because I LOVE how Jack and Lucy have a natural, easy, fun friendship with each other, plus their attraction. It reminds me of me and Jeremy. Yay!
Another is Julie and Julia
I truly do not know what it is about this movie that I like so much. I'm not a big fan of cookbook cooking -- too many instructions. It's obviously missing Andrew Denton, so it can't be that! Every single time I watch this movie, I walk away feeling happy and at peace and head over heels in love with Jeremy. I don't know, but whatever it is, Jeremy certainly reaps the benefits!

What are your favorite movies?
Newsies! Young Christian Bale for the win!
I like Fireproof, Courageous, Facing the Giants, and Flywheel. Make sure you have a box of tissues handy.
Newsies----I loved that movie when I was little. Must watch again soon!
I love "Newsies." Musicals are awesome. I think "Julie & Julia" was one of the things that gave me the blogging bug. And, yeah, it makes you appreciate a good man.
You know mine is "The Sound of Music"!
