I love this quote from Revelation 21:3-5 because it is so full of hope and wonderfulness for my future! :-)

Quote #3 ~ "So this is how liberty dies...with thunderous applause."
Padme's words in Star Wars episode III resonated with me the moment I heard them for the first time in the theater in 2005, and I switched immediately from interested movie-watcher to saddened world citizen. I repeated the line two or three times to myself, and my husband shushed me with a "What's wrong?" look on his face. I sighed to myself at the time and told him, "Those words will be our future someday." I didn't realize that quote had resonated with so many others until this year.

Quote #5 ~ "Speak softly and carry a big stick."
As I grew older, Teddy Roosevelt's words to Henry Sprague began to appeal to me more than Nathan Hale's, simply because they implied the person was successfully in control of the situation. Where Nathan had failed but remained defiant, Teddy had a plan and was successful in carrying it out. Besides, I've always been a fan of say what you mean nicely and kindly but be prepared to enforce what you say if necessary. I have found that people respect that way of living just as much as I do.
Quote #6 ~ "You catch more flies with honey than with vinegar."
Whoever said this was full of wisdom, and whenever I'm tempted to explode on someone for their idiocy, this quote reminds me to stop and look for a way to work with that person rather than against them whenever possible.
And the last...
Quote #7 ~ "If you’re coming to see my house, call first; if you’re coming to see me, drop by any time." I have no idea who came up with that quote, but I like it because my house doesn't stay in a perpetually visitor-ready state. However, my friends stop by frequently and unexpectedly, and I love that. I'm fine with just about anyone coming over at just about any time, as long as they are over to hang out with me or my family and aren't going to worry about the house not being in perfect order.
(After all, I obviously don't!)
I love love love that last quote. I'm thinking I might make a sign with that on it for my front door.
That last one is great. I have no problem with someone stopping over, but we do live here. So don't criticize the house. We really do clean it, but it gets messed up faster than it takes to clean it :)
I like that you explained why you like each quote.
First, Revelation is filled with such promise for those who will be with Him for eternity. Those other quotes are fantastic. Love how meaningful they were to you as you grew up. I have an affection for the last one for sure! =)
